I am also open to shipping this to someone if portable is the only option. I can also try removing / reballing the nand and placing on a donor but given that the board appears okay not sure this would get me much further. I do have PC3K flash and would be open to possibly getting vnr if its capabilites extend beyond what pc3k flash can accomplish. Is this something that could possibly be done with VNR or better yet PC3K flash? , my understanding was that VNR was only for flash devices similar to PC3K flash and that SSD recoveries were limited to a few of the old models that did not encrypt the data in some fashion. That being said I did see that the user "einstein" on hddguru mentions the following " chip-off is a must with high pro. This leads me to believe that the controller is the fault and if this is indeed a NVME SSD then my PC3K UDMA will be of no use. I measured voltage at the points mentioned by fzabkar in the following post on hddguru and all test okay. The warmest component is the controller/nand. When powered on none of the components generate abnormal amounts of heat. It appears that the controller and nand are all in the single chip. Its a fairly simple design compared to other SSD's. The board does not have any obvious faults. None the less I am trying to see if I can recover data. However after reading the various forum posts available on this model I believe this is actually a NVME SSD. I have this SSD that I originally assumed to be a M.2 Sata due to the (B+M) key.
